After trailing for 3 plus quarters, Team USA,led by Joe Montana and Jerry Rice were able to overcome a 10-3 deficit to defeat the 1987 Browns 17-10.The Browns struck first on the second play from scrimmage.Bernie Kozar scramble 59 yards for a TD.After both teams were forced to punt....twice...Team USA kicked a 26 yard field goal with less than a minute to go in the half.Both teams were held scoreless in the 3rd.With under 5 minutes left to play,on fourth and 16,Montana found Dave Casper open on the left side of the field.He cut back toward the middle,got a great block from D.D.Lewis and was able to score from the 26 to tie the score.The Browns took the ensuing kick-off back to the 29.Kosar again dropped back to throw,found no one open and scrambled 55 yards down to the USA 16 yard line.After 2 running plays netted -7 yards,the Browns went to the well one more time.Kosar again dropped to throw,had Langhorne wide open,but under threw him.The pass was picked off by Cambell,returned to the fifty.Two passes netted 26 yards,then three runs, the last a flanker reverse by Rice was the back breaker.Game over.......17-10 USA.......
